Cursed is a supernatural thriller treated with a film noir sensibility. The digital effects I created were key to blending these genres. With the effects we were able to portray the heightened reality of the thriller while keeping the tight control over the look required to get that noir feel.
The project featured several challenging shots. Among these were particle simulations and digital set extensions as well as a completely virtual environment. All of these challenges were completed at 2k resolution and held to a photo-real standard.
With the production's tight budget I was required to take on all these shots myself. While tough, it was a great education and collaborative experience.
